Facebook ads are a prime way to build brand awareness while placing your offerings in front of both highly-specific and broad target audiences.
Facebook is Where Your Customers Are
Facebook is where your future customers spend an extraordinary amount of time: scrolling, sharing, posting – and that includes clicking on and sharing ads.
The more than 1 billion users on Facebook spend nearly an hour a day on the site, yet there are only 3 million active advertisers on Facebook. That’s a huge advertising opportunity you don’t want to miss.
Organic Reach is Pretty Much Dead
You may be thinking, “I have a Facebook business page that I post from regularly, so why do I need to invest in Facebook ads?” While Facebook pages are still a great way to establish your online presence, it’s just not enough anymore.
Organic reach has been in its death throes for some time, with a 2015 study showing that posts from pages reached only about 2% of their audience. Last year organic reach plummeted by 52% for publisher pages. Brands don’t fare any better.
This is because several years ago Facebook recognized the revenue potential from businesses and changed their algorithm so that brands have to invest money to get their messages to their audiences.
Some argue the fairness of this approach on Facebook’s part, but that’s just the reality of online marketing. The good news is that you don’t need a fantastic sum of money to get started with Facebook ads. When done right with creative copy and a well-thought out strategy behind it, Facebook ads can boast a high ROI for your business.
Here are 7 reasons you should invest in Facebook ads.
1. Gain Exposure
Even if you’re already posting on social media, Facebook ads are another way to increase your exposure through social shares. (Yes, people do share ads.) It’s another method to put your brand in front of a broader audience and reach people you might not have otherwise.
2. Increase Traffic
Facebook ads can generate more high-quality traffic to your website or blog from people who are interested in your products and services. Depending on the goal of your ad, this can create more sales or leads. This is especially great if you’ve got a particularly unique product or service that people might not have even thought of to do an internet search for.
3. Generate Leads
Facebook Lead Ads are a powerful way to – you guessed it – generate leads. Instead of sending users who click on your ad to a landing page where you might lose them, users fill out a lead form without having to leave Facebook.
4. Super-Specific Targeting
You can get super-specific with your targeting on Facebook. With options like Lookalike Audiences, Custom Audiences, Facebook ads allow you to zero in on your target demographic. For example, Lookalike Audiences allow you to reach new audiences by targeting people similar to those who have already bought from you or somehow engaged with your brand. Targeting also enables you to connect with customers wherever they are on their path to conversion.
5. Influence the Customer Path
Facebook ads help you reach people at different points in their journey to purchase.
You can reach consumers at the beginning of the research phase through to when they hit they make the final transaction. You can appeal to a broader group of potential customers by meeting them at different stages in their search for the solutions or products you offer. For those consumers in the research phase, a strong remarketing strategy can accelerate them into purchasing.
6. Boost Conversions with Remarketing
Remarketing with Facebook ads can get customers to buy quicker by putting your brand in front of customers who are ready to buy but just need an added reminder of your offerings or incentive to buy.
7. More Creative Content
With the data points you’ve gleaned from your Facebook ads you can get creative with new content ideas that will appeal to your target audience and give your current content a broader reach. Facebook ads offer the potential for highly scalable content by amplifying your reach.
